a well-overdue lament

from a mallard among swans by there will be fish

/

lyrics

A well-inspired lullaby
whose words are undefined
resounds throughout my cerebrum,
and echoes through my mind.

And I would let my feelings out
like you know I should
and I would tell you how I felt
if only I could, if only I could

A well-constructed skyscraper:
dimensions yet unknown.
The hammers pound my temples out:
my brain’s construction zone.

A well-thought-out invention but
the purpose lies at rest.
Some food for thought to whet the
faithful thirsting in my chest.

And all these thoughts above my mind
float high and out of sight.
I’d climb up on a ladder… oh,
but I’m afraid of heights.
